Connecticut Network (CT-N) now provides three streaming video sources for the World Wide Web. During official sessions of the General Assembly, you can watch the deliberations of the House of Representatives on "Live Stream 1" and the State Senate on "Live Stream 2". Whenever the House and Senate are not in session, these channels can be used to watch a variety of Live hearings and meetings taking place in or around the State Capitol.

On CT-N's "CT-N Stream" you will always find CT-N's regular scheduled programming regardless of what is playing on Live Stream 1, Live Stream 2 and TV. See our Daily Schedule page for more information regarding Live and pre-recorded programming.

Problems? Try these trouble-shooting tips:
Problem Solution
Cannot Search/Pause
  • If you are watching a Live Stream (not an On-Demand file) you cannot pause or search because it is not a stored file.
  • If you are watching a stored file (On-Demand) and your search/pause/fast-forward buttons don't seem to work, it most likely means that you are not using Media Player Version 9 or better. Update to the latest version here.
Video doesn't play

In the lower-left corner of the CT-N pop-up player window there is a link to open the current file in the Windows Media Player (stand alone).

Still not working? Several new programs, designed to reduce security risks, may prohibit certain sites or pop-ups from working correctly. Google Toolbar™ and Norton Internet Security™ have been known to cause interference with proper operation of CT-N streaming content, until properly configured. For these types of security programs, you may be need to manually allow the following address: www.ctn.state.ct.us

If you are running Norton Internet Security (and/or Personal Firewall), refer to your instructions to grant permissions to our website, visit www.symantec.com for instructions, or follow these instructions (from the Symantec website):

  1. Open Norton Internet  Security
  2. Click Ad Blocking > Configure > Advanced > Add Site button.
  3. Type the URL (http://www.ctn.state.ct.us)
  4. On the User Settings tab under Pop-up Ads, uncheck "Use ad blocking settings," and ensure that Permit is checked.
  5. Perform step 4 for Cookies and Java applets as well.
  6. Restart your computer.

Another option is to try right-clicking on the link, and choosing "Open In New Window" on the above links.
