Microsoft Edge Browser: Real-time Video Translation
This amazing feature will translate and replace the spoken audio in a video to the selected language. There are certain processor and memory requirements.

How to use this feature on CT-N's video content:
How to use this feature on CT-N's video content:
- Make sure your version of Microsoft Edge browser is up-to-date
- CT-N's Video Library (on-demand) content:
- Start playing the video of your choice from our website
- Hover your mouse pointer over the video and look for the following icon menu to appear at the top of the video window:
- Look for the translate icon on the right-hand side:
(If it's missing, your equipment or browser may not meet the requirements)
- Click the icon and choose your source language (usually English on CT-N) and your desired target language
- The first time you choose a language, MS Edge will have to download the language library. This should be brief depending on your Internet connection.
- After a few seconds, the original audio should be replaced by the generated translation audio.
- CT-N's Live Streams:
- Watching CT-N's Live streams is similar to above except you must first choose one of these options to reveal the MS Edge icon menu
- Before starting the live stream of your choice on CT-N's website click the Watch on Youtube button in the lower-left corner of the video
- OR before starting the live stream of your choice on CT-N's website click the link to Watch on CT-N's Server below the video player
- Then follow the instructions above, same as watching On-demand content
Google Chrome Browser: Live Caption Translation
For some years now, Google Chrome has had the ability to create Live Captions while playing a video. Now they've added the ability to translate these generated captions at the same time!

- Make sure your version of Google Chrome browser is up-to-date
- In your Chrome browser, go to Settings > Accessibility OR cut-and-paste this address into the address bar: chrome://settings/accessibility
- Turn Live Caption on
- To enable translation of live captions:
- Next to “Manage languages,” select Add languages and check one or more language
- This will automatically download language packs
- Next to “Preferred caption language,” select Down arrow Down arrow and then your preferred language.
- Now when you play videos in your Chrome browser, a Live Caption window like this should show:
- If you close the caption window, you can quickly re-open it from the address bar by toggling the "Live Caption" button off-and-on again:
