On Demand Selected CT-N programming made available on the website for viewing at any time, allowing viewers to pause or move to different points within the video.

Podcasting & RSS Feeds Podcasting & RSS: means you can "subscribe" to our "Feeds" or "Channels" and each time a new downloadable item is published to that "Channel" by CT-N, your computer will download that item and you can then watch or listen to that file at your convenience. While RSS (wikipedia entry) feeds can encompass anything from text-blogs & news feeds to video posts, Podcasting (wikipedia entry) usually involves audio and/or video posts.

Podcasts are similar to On-Demand, but the advantage is that once the file is downloaded you could then "take it with you". For example, you could burn an MP3 audio file to an audio CD and listen to it in your car, or you could download the QuickTime video file to your iPod-Video and watch it on your lunch break.

CT-N posts audio files in MP3 format and video files in MP4 format.

You can find free RSS subscription software on the web, such as Apple iTunes [screenshot] or through a search engine (Google has a nice free RSS Reader, too [screenshot] ). You can download the free QuickTime player and the free iTunes service from Apple. You can find free RSS software by clicking here. Many media players are capable of playing MP3 files, including the free Windows Media Player.

Public Hearing Schedule A 60-second message airing periodically between programs on CT-N that provides dates, times, locations, and other pertinent information on upcoming legislative public hearings.

State Agency Close-up A brief educational segment that airs before CT-N’s coverage of a state agency that explains the agency’s function, organization and history.

Webstream A real-time video stream available on the CT-N website. CT-N.com has up to 3 video streams, including what CT-N currently airs on television, and up to two additional live events. Unlike Video-on-Demand, these streams cannot be paused, and viewers cannot move to different points within the program.
