Closed Captioning Technician



Like a challenge? CT-N television is seeking a temporary, part-time Closed Captioning Technician for an interesting position in our dynamic, fast-paced video production and broadcast operation in Hartford. The position involves creating closed captions for TV broadcast to assist the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, using voice-captioning technology.

We are looking for that special person with:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
  • Excellent listening skills
  • A clear speaking voice
  • Above-average knowledge of English grammar, syntax and pronunciation
  • Solid typing and computer skills
  • At least 2 years experience in a professional office environment
  • A friendly personality who can work closely with an energetic, committed team

A strong interest in and/or knowledge of our state's government is a definite plus! Schedule flexibility is required, including working scheduled and unscheduled overtime with some frequency.
